Finally, after correcting all my mistakes and proof reading my booklet yesterday.  I printed the final copy out in color today. I was planning to spiral bind the booklet. But, unfortunately I was not able to do it. Most of the shops in Kodai are closed due to the Tamil festival known as pongal and they only spiral bind books above 30pages in the school. So, I have bought a white transparent folder in which I can submit my product without binding it to Mrs.Zita (my personal project supervisor) day after tomorrow.

Yesterday I worked on the next page which has 1 picture and the conclusion. Under the conclusion, there is a description of what I have achieved from this project, how my product will help the farmers in future and what I have learnt from it. Today I am done with the last and final page of my product which has the sources that I got my information from. I used the easybib citation website to change the URLs into MLA format. There are around 18 different websites I used to get this information from. So, I am finally done completing my booklet on coconut products.

After finishing the 9 main products, I thought it would be nice if I added another page with some other products to make it a total of 12 products. So, I choose guinit helmets, coconut palm sugar and coconut buttons. In the next page I choose to put just pictures. I thought it would be pointless to put more picture of the same 12 products mentioned above. So, I have chosen 9 more completely different products to show them. But, there is no information at all. It is just to show that more things do exist.

Today I am finally relieved that I have come to the last main product in my booklet. It was nothing other than food items. Even though using coconut in dishes is common in villages, I still thought they could gain more by learning what other dishes could be made from it. For example coconut chutney and fish curry are the most famous dishes that are made in villages but, coconut pudding, coconut jam, etc are dishes that are famous in slightly developed cities. I just wanted the farmers to know that, more dishes ware present around the world. So, this page has close to 200 words and more than 4 pictures to support it.

Today I worked on pages 13 and 14 because I skipped yesterday. So, I had to catch up with my work. Page 13 was about coconut milk cosmetics and health care products where as page 14 is about furniture from coconut timber and canoes. No one in Indian rural villages are actually aware of any of these products. So, there are a total of 410 words and 6 pictures on these two pages in simple language to help them learn more.

The next two pages on activated carbon & coir products were quiet tough to work on because it was hard for me to understand the process of making these products. I had to do a lot of research. But, I learnt a lot from it especially about activated carbon. It had so many uses such as water filtration, refining oil, bleaching solutions, recovery of gold, recovery of solvents, filters to protect toxic gases, etc that I didn’t know about. I also enjoyed learning about the process of making coir and coir products. In between I took a break on the 1st of Jan. I only worked day before yesterday and today.
